Tesla, the electric car giant, has recently unveiled the new generation of the "Roadster." This unveiling took place nearly a decade after the start of pre-orders for this electric sports car and was broadcast live from one of SpaceX's testing facilities in McGregor, Texas.
New Wonders in the Automotive World
Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, said at the event: "You are going to see amazing things." He added that Tesla's collaboration as the best car manufacturer in the world with SpaceX as the best rocket manufacturer in the world will bring extraordinary results.

The original model of the "Roadster," designed and engineered by "Martin Eberhard," one of the company's founders, was built on the chassis of the "Lotus Elise." Deliveries of this car began in 2008 and were sold in limited quantities until 2012 at an approximate price of $100,000.
Technical Details and Innovations of the New Generation
The new generation of the "Roadster" has also been introduced as a high-priced vehicle with limited production. This car utilizes SpaceX technologies for its ability to hover in the air. Tesla announced that this two-seater car can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour (about 96 kilometers per hour) in less than one second. Musk also stated that production of this vehicle will begin in 2028, but the price and technical details of its various versions have not yet been released.
At the event, Musk and his team showcased a white sports car that quickly ascended a curved ramp and adhered to it upside down. This demonstration showcased the innovations made in the design and technologies used in the new Roadster.
In recent weeks, Tesla has reopened orders for the updated model of the "Roadster" and is collecting a $50,000 deposit from potential buyers in the U.S., Canada, and China. Musk first spoke about the initial design of this car in November 2017 and provided more details in June of the following year.
Specific features included in the new Roadster model consist of a drive-by-wire system, a yoke steering wheel, and a set of technologies developed by SpaceX. These technologies allow the car to perform stunt maneuvers. However, interestingly, Tesla has not included the Full Self-Driving (FSD) system in the new Roadster, and Musk stated that this car is designed for human driver operation.
Tesla began accepting the $50,000 deposit for the new Roadster in 2017, but since then has missed all announced delivery dates. Even Musk promised in October of last year to hold a Roadster showcase before the end of 2025, which did not happen. These delays have led to criticism and mockery from some customers and even Musk's friends.
