The sports competitions for students with disabilities will begin on October 18th in 20 schools in the capital. These competitions are supported by the Women's and Men's Deputy Offices of the Tehran Municipality Sports Organization and are held in celebration of Physical Education Week and National Paralympic Day. The goal of this event is to promote a culture of sports participation and provide opportunities for these students to engage in physical activities.

Host Schools and Sports Disciplines

In total, 10 boys' schools and 10 girls' schools in the 22 districts of Tehran have been selected as hosts for these competitions. The selection of host schools has been done in collaboration with the Education Department, and in areas where hosting is not feasible due to the lack of suitable schools, competitions will be held at centers for individuals with disabilities.

Students with various disabilities, including hearing impairment, blindness, Down syndrome, and autism, can participate in this sports program. For these competitions, disciplines have been designed according to the abilities of the participants, including darts, cornhole, and boccia. Additionally, other disciplines will be added to the competition program to provide a more diverse environment for competition.

New Opportunities for Participation and Solidarity

Holding these competitions not only allows students with disabilities to participate in sports activities but also provides them with an opportunity to connect with their peers and create a sense of solidarity. This event acts as a bridge between students and the sports community, helping to promote a culture of acceptance and respect for the diverse abilities of individuals.

Given the importance of sports in improving quality of life and physical and mental health, this event can have a significant positive impact on these students and their families. It is expected that these competitions will help foster a strong spirit and determination among young people and adolescents with disabilities and provide them with greater motivation to engage in social and sports activities.
