Yesterday, the University of Tehran hosted the first international conference "Half a Century of Diplomatic Relations Between Iran and the People's Republic of China." This conference aimed to examine the current conditions and future strategic cooperation between the two countries, with various speakers sharing their opinions and experiences.

Challenges of Academic Cooperation

At this conference, Ghasem Shiri, the president of the University of Tehran, pointed out the importance of scientific and academic relations between Iran and China, stating that academic cooperation between the two countries is not at a desirable level. He added, "The educational and university system should be designed in a way that facilitates scientific and research cooperation between Iran and China."

Shiri also noted that despite the abundant potentials, there are numerous obstacles to the development of academic cooperation that need to be addressed. He emphasized the necessity of creating joint educational and research programs and called for more cooperation in the field of student and faculty exchange.

Future Cooperation Outlook

Continuing the conference, representatives from universities and research centers from both countries also shared their views. They emphasized that by utilizing shared experiences and expanding international cooperation, scientific and technological growth and development can be achieved.

Shiri also mentioned the positive impacts of these collaborations on the diplomatic relations between the two countries and noted that the development of academic relations could help strengthen political and economic ties. He said, "We must take advantage of this opportunity to achieve sustainable and effective cooperation."

This conference was attended by a group of professors and researchers from various universities in Iran and China, and at the end, participants exchanged views and discussed ways to improve scientific cooperation. It is hoped that these meetings and conferences can help strengthen scientific and cultural relations between the two countries.
