Seyyed Ahmad Alavi, the head of the Tourism Committee of the Islamic Council of Tehran, during the 437th public session of the council, while commemorating "Children's Week," outlined the challenges facing families in inflationary conditions and called for supportive measures for children and adolescents.
The Necessity of Addressing Children's Needs
Alavi, at the beginning of his remarks, emphasized the importance of children in Islamic teachings, stating: "In Islamic culture and teachings, children are regarded as kings and are as delicate as flower petals. They are the builders of the future of the country, and it is logical that in any situation and crisis, we must first think about meeting the needs and support packages for this vulnerable group."

Elimination of Recreational Activities from Household Budgets
The head of the Tourism Committee of the City Council of Tehran pointed out the direct impact of rising inflation on the quality of children's lives, stating: "Unfortunately, when inflation rises and people's tables shrink, families are forced to eliminate some expenses from their household budgets, with the first victims of this decision being the needs of children and adolescents. Items like cinema, amusement parks, or sports activities are considered non-essential goods and are easily removed from family life plans."
He also referred to the urgent need for adolescents to engage in recreational and sports activities, adding: "When a family, due to economic constraints, eliminates cinema tickets or sports programs, they are actually limiting their child's social growth and vitality. Additionally, in the areas of safety (HSE) in parks and streets or healthcare services, if urban management does not have precise prioritization, children and adolescents will suffer the most damage."
Alavi continued by supporting the recent actions of the Tehran Municipality to alleviate economic pressure, saying: "I appreciate the good event that took place two weeks ago with the announcement of the support package 'Zero Inflation' by Dr. Zakhani. However, occasions like Children's Week remind us that we must think beyond these actions and create a dedicated package for this group."
In conclusion, the head of the Tourism Committee of the Islamic Council of Tehran addressed the Mayor of Tehran, requesting: "Now that we have passed the Tehran Week and the statute of the Tehran City Tourism Company has also been announced, I ask the esteemed Mayor of Tehran to prepare a special support package for children and adolescents that specifically addresses tourism, recreational, sports, and healthcare issues for this generation."
