A senior Saudi official revealed the unofficial war situation of Riyadh with Iran in a crucial interview. This official, who recently spoke with an Israeli media outlet, stated that Saudi Arabia is in a war-like situation due to Iranian threats and the use of the Ansar Allah (Houthis) group by this country.

Saudi Constraints and Security Challenges

This Saudi official pointed to the difficult conditions in Saudi Arabia and said: "Despite the lack of an official declaration, we are in a war situation with Iran. Iran uses the Ansar Allah group against us to block the Bab-el-Mandeb Strait and increase global oil prices." He added that the threats from the Houthis are limited to missile attacks on population centers and airports, as well as the blockade of Bab-el-Mandeb.

Saudis fully understand that this war is a proxy war led by Iran, without Iran directly engaging. This Saudi official said: "The overthrow of the Iranian regime is a regional and global interest."

Request for Help from Israel

Furthermore, this Saudi official referred to Saudi Arabia's request for assistance from Israel in the war against the Houthis and emphasized that the capabilities of the Israeli army in the battle against Iran have impacted Riyadh. He noted that Israel was the only party that responded to Saudi Arabia's request, and this matter will be part of Saudi political calculations in the future.

This official also stated that "Israel's assistance is significant for the entire region and the world" and emphasized that Israel's military capabilities in fighting the Ansar Allah demonstrate their effectiveness. This comes as the Houthis continuously pose threats against Saudi Arabia, forcing the country to take serious actions to maintain its national security.

Reports indicate that Saudi Arabia is strengthening its forces along its southern borders and also focusing airstrikes on Houthi gatherings near the border. These developments reflect a critical situation in the region and the challenges facing Saudi Arabia in confronting Iranian and Houthi threats.
