Sardar Azmoun, the striker of the Iranian national football team, discussed the atmosphere surrounding the national team and the tensions raised in the media in an interview with Mohammad Hossein Mithaqi. Azmoun firmly stated that no one in the national team has the right to shout at each other and that such behavior is absolutely unacceptable.

Unrealistic tensions in the national team

Mithaqi began the interview by referring to the psychological pressures that players may feel during a match, saying: "When you watch the game, it feels like many players are under pressure. From the perspective that when a player makes 2 passes and the ball doesn’t reach, he blames himself. Where in the world have you seen such a thing?" This question was directed to Azmoun, who courageously responded.

Azmoun emphatically said: "Who has shouted? I haven’t seen it. Does a player mean shouting? No. It’s inappropriate. I’m sorry, but no one has the right to shout in the national team, whether we are there or not. If we see it ourselves, we need to correct this behavior." He stressed that such behaviors should never occur in the national team, adding: "We always complain tactically and football-wise to my teammate. I always get on Mehdi’s case and he gets on mine because we expect from each other."

External pressures and their effects

Continuing, Mithaqi asked Azmoun if he feels the national team is in a comfortable situation or not. Azmoun pointed to the pressures players feel due to some external issues, saying: "The kids are under some pressure. One example is Alireza Beiranvand, who is under pressure due to military service issues. These matters are completely normal. I have been in the national team for 12, 13 years and have seen the ups and downs of this issue. I try to keep my focus."

Azmoun, referring to his experiences in the national team and the various challenges he has faced, emphasized the importance of empathy and cooperation among players. He believes that to succeed in upcoming competitions, players must distance themselves from pressures and focus on their common goal.

In the end, Azmoun stated that the national team should distance itself from distractions and focus on its performance, emphasizing solidarity and a positive spirit within the team. This interview provided a clear view of the challenges and psychological pressures that Iranian football players face and showed that Sardar Azmoun, as one of the leaders of the national team, is always striving to maintain team spirit and create a positive atmosphere.
