Rustam Ashurmatov, the Uzbek defender of Esteghlal, was injured in the knee during his team's match against Shabab Al-Ahli. After the Blue team's return to Tehran, this player could not participate in group training and instead followed his treatment under the supervision of the medical staff.
Concerning Condition of Ashurmatov's Knee
Ashurmatov has been absent from the last two training sessions of Esteghlal and has been following a physiotherapy program during this time. Unfortunately, his knee condition is not such that his presence in the upcoming match against Al-Shamal can be confirmed. Initial assessments indicate that the likelihood of this player missing Esteghlal's fourth Asian match is higher, and the coaching staff currently cannot count on his presence in the starting lineup.

Final Test and Hope for Return
Despite this situation, Ashurmatov will travel with Esteghlal's delegation to Basra so that his treatment can continue in Iraq. A final test on this defender's knee is scheduled for Monday, one day before the match. The result of this test will determine whether Ashurmatov can be included in the match roster or if he will have to watch the game against Al-Shamal from the stands.
If Ashurmatov passes the final test, the likelihood of him starting the match is not very high. The coaching staff may include this player in the emergency list to enter the field for a few minutes if needed. If his knee pain persists or if Monday's test is unsatisfactory, his absence from Tuesday's match will be confirmed.
Currently, Saman Toranian and Rustam Ashurmatov are considered Esteghlal's two injured players. Toranian is still undergoing treatment for his knee injury and will not make it to the Al-Shamal game, but there is still a very small chance for Ashurmatov's presence. The final decision regarding the Uzbek defender of Esteghlal will be made after Monday's test and an assessment of his knee's response to training.
