Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, expressed concern over the attack, emphasizing that Russia targeted a civilian site. He once again urged Western countries, especially the United States and members of the G7, to impose more sanctions on Moscow and thereby increase pressure on Russia.

In response, the Russian Ministry of Defense denied the claim of attacking civilian targets, asserting that the attack on Ukraine's railway network is part of a military operation aimed at targeting infrastructure used for military transportation.
While Dnipro has been the hottest spot of this attack, Ukrainian officials reported the deaths of two teenage girls in a Russian missile attack on the city of Chernihiv. In this attack, at least eleven others, most of them children, were also injured, highlighting the humanitarian dimensions of the tragedy in the war.
In another news, Russia condemned Ukraine's drone attack on Moscow, with Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesperson, describing the timing of the attack as "very unconventional." Sergey Sobyanin, the mayor of Moscow, also announced that over six hundred Ukrainian drones attacked the area overnight, most of which were intercepted.

They hope that this strategy will exert more pressure on the Russian government and draw the attention of the international community to the state of the war.
