Chain explosions in weapon and ammunition storage depots in Syria have become a hot topic in recent weeks. Early on Monday, new explosions occurred in the "Al-Hazbah" area west of the "Al-Eis" town, injuring four people.
Details of the Explosions
According to local news agencies, the explosions took place in an ammunition depot associated with the forces of the Golan regime. At the same time, some sources have also mentioned explosions in missile depots, but the exact cause of these incidents has not yet been officially announced. Rescue teams quickly sprang into action to evacuate nearby homes and close off routes leading to the explosion site.

This incident occurred just three days after another explosion at one of the Golan army positions in the "Ayyash" area west of Deir ez-Zor. In this incident, 11 members of the rebel government's Ministry of Defense were killed, and investigations into the cause of the explosion are still ongoing. The Deir ez-Zor governorate has also emphasized that this explosion occurred in a weapons depot.
Problems Caused by Old Weapons
In recent days, other explosions have also been reported in various regions of Syria. For example, two days ago, an explosion occurred in an ammunition depot in the "Al-Dumayr" area on the outskirts of Damascus, caused by the detonation of old munitions that were prepared for disposal, fortunately resulting in no casualties.
However, news websites continue to raise concerns about the volume of weapons and munitions left over from the war in Syria. Military researchers emphasize that dealing with old weapons requires adherence to strict standards, which unfortunately are often overlooked in many cases.
At the same time, some experts point to the possibility of sabotage in these explosions. Given the sequence and frequency of these incidents, this hypothesis may receive more attention.
These explosions occur at a time when Syrian cities have witnessed widespread protests against rising fuel prices in recent weeks. The sudden 40% increase in the price of diesel and other energy carriers has taken protesters to the streets and led to the blocking of main roads.
