Seyed Mohammad Rahim Mortazavi, the mayor of District 13, along with Asghar Nazari, the president of the Polo Federation, visited various sections of the Martyrs' Polo and Equestrian Complex. This visit provided an opportunity to carefully examine the existing capacities and facilities in this complex and emphasized the importance of developing and upgrading sports infrastructure.
Emphasis on Infrastructure Development
During this meeting, Mortazavi pointed to the necessity of enhancing the facilities of the complex and strengthening joint collaborations to support polo as a traditional and deep-rooted sport in Iranian culture. He evaluated the development and renovation process of the complex positively and emphasized the importance of supporting construction projects and preserving the national assets of polo sports. These actions not only help improve infrastructure but can also pave the way for hosting national and international events.
Visit to the National Polo Team's Practice
Continuing this visit, Mortazavi attended the practice of the national polo team and closely followed the preparation process of the national athletes in this sport. He paid special attention to the enthusiasm and eagerness of the athletes to elevate the level of polo in the country, as well as the emphasis on support from urban management.
Asghar Nazari, the president of the Polo Federation, also presented a report on the federation's programs during this visit, highlighting the unique capacities of the Polo and Equestrian Complex of Ghasr-e Firouzeh as the oldest and largest specialized polo and equestrian complex in the country. He thanked the urban management of the region and emphasized the importance of this complex in strengthening and developing this sport.
At the end of this meeting, Nazari presented a book containing the actions of this noble and traditional sport to the mayor of District 13, which reflects the efforts made to preserve and promote polo in Iran.
