The World Wrestling Championship in Kazakhstan is underway, and in the meantime, two prominent Iranian wrestlers, Rahman Amouzad and Hassan Yazdani, faced tough challenges, but they have not lost their chance for medals.
Rahman Amouzad; from the first round to the repechage
In the 65 kg weight category, Rahman Amouzad decisively defeated Mousaev from Belgium 13 to 2 in the first round. This victory demonstrated his dominance over his opponents and his readiness for tougher competitions. However, in the quarter-finals, Amouzad lost to Tovanyan from Armenia 3 to 2. Although this defeat was bitter, given Tovanyan's presence in the final match, Amouzad returned to the repechage bracket. This opportunity allows him to fight again for a medal and show that his hopes are still alive.
Hassan Yazdani; an unparalleled champion facing new challenges
In the 97 kg weight category, Hassan Yazdani, the renowned champion of Iranian wrestling, defeated Kim from South Korea 11 to 0 in the first round. Yazdani, who is recognized as one of the main medal contenders in this competition, faced Arash Yoshida, the bronze medalist from Japan, in the next round and lost 7 to 5. This defeat, like that of Rahman Amouzad, also brought Yazdani back to the repechage bracket.
The presence of both wrestlers in the repechage indicates that both champions can still strive for valuable medals. This opportunity allows them to not only etch their names in the history of Iranian sports but also to continue the legacy of previous championships.
The World Wrestling Championship in Kazakhstan is approaching its climax, and we hope that Rahman Amouzad and Hassan Yazdani, with strong determination and will, can achieve greater successes in the upcoming stages and bring joy to their fans.
