The proliferation of advanced nuclear weapons is gradually bringing the threat of total destruction of humanity closer. While the world moves towards technological advancements and artificial intelligence, the nuclear threat has somewhat been forgotten.
Destruction on the Horizon
Humans have frighteningly and sometimes joyfully thought about the end of the world since ancient times. The Bible refers to the 'end' days, which include famine, war, and natural disasters. These imaginations have come close to bitter realities in today's world.

Warnings from Global Leaders
Vladimir Putin has recently threatened that he could deploy the entire Russian nuclear arsenal against NATO countries. These statements, while there are signs of unreliability in Moscow's nuclear threats, remain dangerous and destabilizing. Meanwhile, Donald Trump justifies war against Iran with baseless claims and threatens the destruction of the Islamic Republic. This is occurring while the United States is updating its nuclear arsenal and supporting Israel's secret nuclear program.
The situation in Asia is not much better. Kim Jong Un, the leader of North Korea, has somehow gained international recognition for his country's nuclear status, and South Korea is considering arming itself with nuclear weapons. This situation, along with increased nuclear activities in China, poses a serious alarm for global security.
Global Concerns
Antonio Guterres, the Secretary-General of the United Nations, warns that the world has reached the most dangerous nuclear moment since 1989. Global military spending last year approached $3 trillion, and expenditures related to nuclear weapons increased by 20%. In this context, the need for serious discussions about nuclear disarmament and limiting arms is more pressing than ever.
Ultimately, it must be said that while the risks posed by artificial intelligence continue to be discussed and examined, the reality of the nuclear threat is clearly before our eyes and requires immediate attention and action.
