Mohammad Sadegh Mo'tamedian, the governor of Tehran, in an online meeting of the provincial crisis management headquarters, asked citizens to pay special attention to new weather forecasts and upcoming rainfall. This meeting was attended by governors and crisis management officials from the counties, and the latest readiness status of the responsible agencies was reviewed.

Red Alert and Full Readiness

Mo'tamedian further referred to the warning from the meteorological organization and said: "Rainfall will continue in the coming days, and a red alert has been declared for some northern counties of the province. Therefore, all governorates and rescue agencies must monitor weather developments with full readiness and continuous presence."

Mo'tamedian also emphasized the need to deploy machinery, equipment, and operational forces in sensitive areas before emergency conditions arise, stating: "The responsibilities of the agencies have been reviewed once again, and they must continuously monitor and maintain necessary readiness."

Preventive Measures and Crisis Management

The governor of Tehran pointed out the preventive measures taken in the past month, stating: "Municipalities and other responsible agencies outside urban areas have been cleaning water flow paths and channels. These actions must continue until the end of the rainfall wave."

He also considered preventing casualties as the top priority of the province's crisis management, saying: "Governors must continuously monitor high-risk areas, riverbanks, and places at risk of flooding or inundation, and if danger to homes, schools, or facilities is observed, preventive actions must be implemented without delay."

An Opportunity for Water Resource Management

Mo'tamedian, while referring to the drought situation of the past five years, said: "These rains represent a valuable opportunity for the province, and we must utilize this capacity in the best way through proper management of surface water."

He also reassured citizens, stating: "Crisis management headquarters in the counties and the city of Tehran are continuously monitoring the situation, and it is necessary for people to take meteorological and rescue recommendations seriously and avoid being in riverbeds and high-risk areas."

Decision-Making Regarding School and Office Activities

Mo'tamedian concluded by saying: "Any potential decisions regarding restrictions on office or school activities will be made based on the conditions of each area and according to reports from specialized agencies, and will be communicated through official channels." Meanwhile, citizens must be adequately prepared and heed the recommendations of crisis management.
