Mohammad Javad Zarif, our Foreign Minister, discussed the recent talks with the Foreign Minister of Lebanon in a press conference, examining the existing challenges between the two countries and their bilateral relations. He emphasized the importance of Hezbollah in Lebanese society, stating that internal decision-making should be left to the Lebanese themselves.

Candid Dialogue on Challenges

Zarif clearly stated in this meeting that the dialogue with the Foreign Minister of Lebanon was dedicated to examining the challenges faced by both countries. He added that these discussions were aimed at strengthening relations and bilateral cooperation, and in his view, Lebanon is in a sensitive and complex situation. This situation requires cooperation and support from neighboring and friendly countries.

Hezbollah and the Realities of Lebanese Society

Our Foreign Minister also pointed out the role of Hezbollah in Lebanon, stating that this group is part of the social and political structure of Lebanon. He emphasized that decision-making on internal Lebanese issues should be in the hands of the Lebanese, and no country can act on their behalf. This position somewhat reflects respect for Lebanon's sovereignty and the right of its people to determine their own destiny.

Zarif further referred to the importance of diplomacy and dialogue in solving problems, stating that in the current circumstances, diplomacy can serve as an effective tool for reducing tensions and creating suitable conditions for future cooperation. He also mentioned economic and cultural collaborations between Iran and Lebanon and stressed the necessity of strengthening these relations.

Consequences of Bilateral Cooperation

At the end of this meeting, our Foreign Minister emphasized that bilateral cooperation between Iran and Lebanon can contribute to the stability and security of the region. He said: "We are ready to take steps to strengthen economic, cultural, and political relations with Lebanon and help achieve peace and stability in this country." These remarks reflect Iran's willingness to actively participate in improving conditions in Lebanon.

While Lebanon faces numerous economic and political challenges, the recent dialogues between the officials of the two countries could herald effective cooperation in the future. This cooperation could serve as a model for other countries in the region seeking solutions to their internal challenges.
