Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, in today's (Sunday, October 26) public webinar session, after the President's defense of Mehrdad Akhlaghi, the proposed Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Support, paid tribute to the martyrs of the government, especially the martyrs of the Ministry of Defense, stating: "We honor the memory of the martyrs of the government, especially the martyrs of the Ministry of Defense; martyrs who were the vanguards of the cabinet martyrs."
Remembering the Great Martyrs of Defense
Ghalibaf further added: "If we look back, Martyr Chamran, Martyr Namjoo, Martyr Fakouri, Martyr Shamkhani, and Martyr Nasirzadeh were among our Ministers of Defense, which shows that these individuals were at the forefront of jihad and martyrdom." He also referred to several other great martyrs and expressed: "I hope we can continue the path of the great martyrs who were flag bearers in this field, including Martyr Fakhrizadeh, Martyr Hajizadeh, Martyr Tehrani-Moghaddam, and other martyrs, by God's grace."

Attention to Sensitive Conditions and Responsibilities of Representatives
Ghalibaf noted: "Surely our dear ones in the parliament are also paying attention to these sensitive conditions and this important day." Today's parliamentary session, chaired by Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and attended by the maximum number of representatives, began in a webinar format. In this session, the agenda includes reviewing the program and qualifications of Mehrdad Akhlaghi Khatabchi for the position of Minister of Defense and Armed Forces Support and obtaining a vote of confidence.
Additionally, in this session, the report of the Economic Commission regarding the bilateral agreement on mutual administrative assistance in customs matters between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Indonesia and the report of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission regarding the bill to amend the law on the use of weapons by armed forces personnel in emergency situations will also be discussed.
