Reactions and Investigations
Abdul Hassan Hosseini, the governor of Faryab, stated that special operational and intelligence teams of the police have been deployed in the area to identify and apprehend the perpetrators of this attack. This incident occurred just one day after similar attacks in the cities of Golshan and Nikshahr in Sistan and Baluchestan province, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of several law enforcement personnel.
In recent months, attacks on law enforcement and armed confrontations in southeastern Iran have increased. Sistan and Baluchestan province, due to its long borders with Pakistan and Afghanistan, has always faced security challenges and is recognized as one of the sensitive areas in Iran.
Security Challenges in Southeastern Iran
These days, security challenges in southeastern Iran have significantly increased, and it seems that militia groups and traffickers of goods and drugs have become more active than ever in this region. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has stated in a statement that Israel and the United States, after failing in their war against Iran, have been strengthening terrorist and Takfiri groups in this area.
Given the current security conditions, it is expected that Iranian law enforcement and security forces will take more serious actions to address these challenges and ensure the safety of citizens. These events not only affect local security but also increase public concerns regarding the security situation in the country.
