Massoud Pezeshkian, this morning on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at a nationwide meeting with the police commanders of the Islamic Republic of Iran, while greeting the pure spirit of the great founder of the Islamic Revolution, the martyr leader of the revolution, and all the martyrs of the path of security and independence of the country, especially the martyrs of the police, addressed key points regarding the security of the country.

Appreciation for the Efforts of Police Forces

The President noted the round-the-clock efforts of the police forces, emphasizing that they have played a significant role in defending the security of the country. He stated: "You have proven in practice that you are both the adornment of the country and its stronghold, and you have created dignity and pride."

Pezeshkian referred to the enemy's efforts to create chaos following the military attack on the country, saying: "You defended the integrity of the country with your round-the-clock efforts, thwarted the enemy's plans, and discouraged them." He appreciated the resilience of the people and police forces against the enemies, stating: "If the people come to the field, no power can bring us down."

Proposal for 'Security Watch'

Furthermore, the President proposed that the slogan "Every home a security watch and guardian of the welfare and comfort of the neighborhood" could be launched to strengthen public participation in ensuring security and improving the quality of life in neighborhoods. He emphasized that mosques can play an effective role in this regard, stating: "A mosque is a local government and can address the needs and security and health issues of the people."

Pezeshkian also referred to statistics related to energy consumption, stating that with just a 10 percent reduction in consumption, Iran could become self-sufficient in energy imports. He thanked the police for their efforts in combating fuel smuggling and mentioned that if the government's plan for a car-free day across the country is implemented, 10 million liters would be saved daily.

The President, referring to the heavy economic war that the enemy has waged against the country, emphasized that the government is determined to serve the people with all its might and to meet their needs. He said: "We have not come to govern, but to serve."

In conclusion, Pezeshkian expressed gratitude to the commanders and police forces for their cooperation with the government, emphasizing the necessity of synergy among all branches of the system and stating: "Without your cooperation, we could not have achieved many of these successes."
