Masoud Pezeshkian, the President, in an online connection with the East Azerbaijan Development and Planning Council meeting, referred to the necessity of increasing the powers of managers and relying on domestic capacities, stating: "In the first step, we must properly utilize the powers given to managers and not wait for decisions from the President or officials based in Tehran."

The Necessity of Trusting Local Managers

Pezeshkian, recalling his managerial experience as the head of a university, asked, "Why are managers stationed in Tehran and not allowing managers in provinces to work?" He believes that managers and hardworking individuals in provinces are not lacking in capabilities compared to officials based in Tehran, and we must believe in our domestic capacities to manage the country.

The President further referred to the wartime conditions and external pressures against the country, stating: "The enemy attacked and even martyred the leader of the country; they wanted to dismantle the country, but the result of these actions was our greater cohesion." He emphasized that the enemy seeks to block the country's pathways to create public discontent.

Public Participation and Solidarity in the Face of Challenges

Pezeshkian stated, "We must solve the country's problems ourselves," urging people to strive for better conditions in every city they are in. He also emphasized the necessity of strengthening public participation in local governance and considered mosque-centered and neighborhood-centered approaches as effective solutions to problems.

He referred to the role of mosques in the early years of the revolution, adding: "Many problems were solved through the mosque, but today we should not think that the mosque has no place in solving issues." He urged people to take responsibility in their neighborhoods and cities to participate in solving problems.

Pezeshkian also highlighted the damage to the country's energy infrastructure and emphasized the need for consumption management in the winter, stating: "Despite the attacks on gas and power facilities, we are determined, with the help of the people and managers, not to let the supply of gas and electricity in the winter face serious problems."

He stressed the necessity of supporting the production sector, adding: "We must ensure the supply of electricity and gas needed for industries and production units in every possible way and not allow the country's production to stop."

Pezeshkian concluded his remarks by appreciating the efforts of the people and the military and security forces of the country, stating: "No power imagined that our military and commanders would withstand such attacks. We are grateful for these efforts."

He also urged managers to consider themselves as servants of the people and to strive to solve problems, emphasizing that this will strengthen the solidarity and cooperation of the people.
