Masoud Pezeshkian, the President, on Sunday morning (September 22) at the eighteenth BRICS Plus summit held in India, emphatically stressed the need for this group to play an effective role in defending the national sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries. He pointed out the current global challenges, stating that BRICS must act as an effective entity in preventing the use of force and violations of countries' rights.
A More Balanced and Inclusive World
Pezeshkian continued: "BRICS is a sign of the increasing demand for a more balanced and inclusive world. In this world, no center of power should have the right to determine the fate of others." His remarks clearly reflect the serious determination of countries to create a fairer international system based on multilateral cooperation.
He also referred to the necessity of adhering to international law principles and respecting the national sovereignty of countries, stating: "In the current circumstances, our world needs more cooperation and solidarity to face the challenges ahead. BRICS must be at the forefront in this regard. Therefore, we must pay special attention to strengthening relations among members and expanding cooperation."
These statements from the President come at a time when international tensions and economic challenges are significantly increasing. It seems that BRICS, as an economic and political group, must become a more credible entity on the global stage to help strengthen national sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries.
