Kylian Mbappé, the French star and forward of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), is on the verge of a crucial match against Barcelona. Barcelona's bold and high defensive line displayed this season in La Liga could pose new challenges for Mbappé. The team typically starts its attacks from a greater distance from their own goal, which may mean less space for Mbappé.
The Offside Trap; Mbappé's Everlasting Foe
Mbappé knows well that Barcelona's defense will be keeping a close eye on him. Known as a master of getting caught in the offside trap, he must be cautious. In his match against Barcelona two years ago, Mbappé was caught offside 8 times, the highest number in a game by a player in the top five European leagues in nearly 14 years. This statistic indicates that he has learned many lessons in this area.

Last season, Mbappé was caught in the offside trap four times again in a match against Barcelona; this shows that he still needs to learn in this regard. However, he managed to evade the offside trap in the first half and scored his team's first goal. Madrid won that match 2-1, and now Mbappé hopes to exploit the weaknesses of Barcelona's defense once again.
Barcelona and PSG's Strategy
Barcelona has shown this season that it can create problems for opponents by applying pressure on their defensive lines. In the match between PSG and Barcelona, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia demonstrated how to damage Barcelona's defense with a shot that hit the post. Additionally, Yamal scored the first goal by taking possession of the ball in Barcelona's defensive third. This season, Barcelona has conceded only 3 goals due to ball loss, making them the second team after Levante to concede more goals.
Now Madrid leads La Liga with 19 missed shots this season. However, the question arises whether they and their coach, José Mourinho, are willing to take the risk of advancing against Barcelona? This is a significant and crucial decision that could have major implications for the flow of the game.
In this match, Mbappé can take advantage of the spaces that Barcelona gives him. He needs to pay close attention to his movements to navigate the offside trap and showcase his brilliance once again. This is a great opportunity for Mbappé to prove that he is still one of the best forwards in the world and can support his team in tough situations.
