Khavar Khanom Rahmani, with unparalleled motivation, leads a group of women from Shamsir Village into the heart of the Uraman Mountains. These women, none of whom are professional climbers or athletes, have traversed from the peaks of Shaho and Kuh-e-Gasfid to Qara-Dagh and Haji-Ibrahim with love and determination.
The Beginning of a Collective Journey
These mountaineering gatherings began about 7 years ago, and every Thursday, the women of Shamsir Village venture into the mountains to distance themselves from the worries of daily life. Khavar Khanom says, "We are small, and we all know each other. Gathering this team was difficult at first, but the trust of the men in the village allowed us to engage in communion with nature every week."

These camaraderie activities are not limited to women's gatherings; these women also collect trash and keep the environment clean while enjoying nature. As a pioneer, Khavar Khanom, along with her group members, engages in environmental activities and includes workshops on combating addiction in their programs.
Valuable and Cherished Experiences
With years of experience in mountaineering, Khavar Khanom has concluded that physical activity and connection with nature are beneficial not only for physical health but also for the spirit and mind. She says, "The health of the mother of the family enables her to take better care of her children. If the woman and mother of the family are happy, she brings that happiness home, and everyone feels better."
In this group of 80, women of various ages are seen, from women in their 20s to those in their fifth decade of life. Many of these women have overcome physical issues such as back pain and knee pain through mountaineering and have achieved better health.
Khavar Khanom's love for conquering mountains began the day she and her husband went hiking. Having been an athlete since her youth, she was unable to exercise after marriage due to daily problems, but as her children grew older, she returned to the sports scene. During walks with her husband, she decided to pursue professional mountaineering and climbed the peaks of Damavand and other famous summits.
With her education alongside her sports activities, Khavar Khanom is recognized as a successful role model for the women of Shamsir Village. She says, "We must teach our children that a healthy and vibrant life begins with the mountains and nature."
