In his remarks, Hossein Ovajaki stressed that the Sports Organization is recognized as the initiator and founder of sports movement in Tehran and other metropolises. He added: "Holding the 'City Champion' and 'Champion City' competitions is an effective measure in identifying and introducing sports champions at the city and national levels."

The CEO of the Tehran Municipality Sports Organization further emphasized that many sports complexes in Tehran need reconstruction and renovation. He stated: "This complex had been unused for years and has been renovated in terms of buildings and facilities. According to the latest statistics, the sports area per capita in Tehran is 57 square centimeters, and considering open spaces, this area reaches one square meter." These figures indicate a serious need for the development of sports infrastructure in Tehran.
He also noted that most of these areas belong to the Tehran Municipality, and holding the City Champion competitions provides an opportunity to identify and introduce champions who can also be presented to federations at the national level.
