Fatima Majall, an Iranian athlete and representative of the country in the rowing competitions of the Nagoya Asian Games ٢٠٢٦, today achieved a great honor at Lake Nakara. She competed in the final of the women's heavyweight singles event against athletes from Indonesia, Chinese Taipei, China, Uzbekistan, and the Philippines, finishing third with a time of ٧:٣٥:٩٩ and winning the bronze medal.

Historic gold in lightweight rowing

This success came as Fatima Majall had earlier won first place in the women's lightweight rowing event with a time of ٧:٢٤:٥٧, earning the gold medal of the Asian Games. This medal was not only the first gold for Iranian women at the Nagoya Asian Games, but it also made Fatima the first woman in the history of Iranian rowing to win a gold medal in this event.

Continuous efforts and dedicating the medal to the girls of Iran

After winning the gold medal in lightweight rowing, Fatima Majall expressed: "I thank God. I appreciate everyone who helped me on this journey. I am very happy that I was able to raise my country's flag and make the dear people of Iran happy." She mentioned her historic achievement with joy about her medal's color, saying: "Yes, we have not had a gold medal in women's rowing in the history of the Asian Games, and I am the first person. I worked hard to break this curse and be the first girl to win gold for our dear country in this sport."

Majall spoke with emotion about her two years of efforts to reach this success and referred to the tough training conditions in winter and summer. She also thanked the Minister of Sports and Youth for the separation of the rowing federation, stating: "This helped us a lot to progress. Our federation has made significant progress during this time, and we owe this gold to this event."

In the end, the golden girl of rowing in Iran dedicated her medal to Iranian girls, stating: "I hope all the girls of Iran succeed in all fields."
