The crash of a Congolese army plane on Friday resulted in the deaths of 14 people, including two senior military officials. The incident occurred while the plane was returning from the city of Kikwit to Kinshasa, the capital of Congo.

Details of the Plane Crash

The Congolese army plane encountered a technical failure on its route and crashed in the Kenge area. All passengers on board lost their lives. Congolese officials, including "Afumi Ekenghe," the army spokesperson, confirmed that two senior military officials, "Motombo Katalayi Tinde," the head of the military court, and "Bakumi Likulia," the inspector general of the armed forces, were among the victims of this incident.

Investigation Begins and Challenges Facing the Army

Following this incident, "Afumi Ekenghe" announced that investigations to identify the cause of the crash have begun. "Trifon Kin-Kie Molumba," the chairman of the Congolese Civil Aviation Authority, also stated that the exact cause of the crash is still unclear and further investigations are necessary.

This incident occurred at a time when the Congolese army is battling multiple rebel groups for security reasons. Last year, the country faced a wave of attacks and the capture of key cities by rebel groups. The rebel group "M23," which is supported by Rwanda, poses one of the significant challenges for the Congolese army.

This event has not only dealt a blow to the Congolese army but has also raised concerns about the safety of military flights. Officials hope that through investigations, necessary measures will be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
