Amir Eisaei, the senior manager of Tehran Metro Line 2, announced the equipping of 20 stations of this line with bicycle parking stands and said: "With the construction and installation of these stands, the possibility of using bicycle parking at all stations of Line 2 has been provided." This initiative, as part of Tehran Metro's development programs, aims to increase bicycle usage and reduce traffic and air pollution.
History of Bicycle Parking in the Metro
Before the implementation of this plan, bicycle parking existed only at five stations: Shahid Bahonar, Sarsabz, Shahid Madani, Imam Khomeini (RA), and Sharif University. Now, with the implementation of this plan, other stations of Line 2 have also been equipped with bicycle parking, which can help increase the use of this environmentally friendly mode of transport.

A total capacity for parking 103 bicycles has been created within the stations." This initiative demonstrates domestic capabilities in creating public transport infrastructure and can serve as a model for other similar projects.
In addition, Eisaei pointed out that, following the efforts of the Tehran Metro Operating Company, bicycle parking stands have also been installed by the municipality in the outer areas of the stations at Sharif University, Janbazan, Sarsabz, and Shahid Bahonar. This initiative reflects the collaboration between various organizations and institutions to facilitate public transportation.
