Brigadier General Yahya Saree, spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces, reported early today (Sunday) the downing of a Saudi 'Karyal' armed reconnaissance drone in the skies over Hajjah province. This incident marks the fourth case of such a drone being shot down in the recent tensions between Yemeni forces and Saudi Arabia.
History of Drone Shootdowns
Yahya Saree further explained that the Yemeni Armed Forces' defenses have successfully destroyed seven of this type of drone so far. 'Karyal' drones are used as reconnaissance and offensive tools in Saudi military operations, and their downing demonstrates Yemen's defense capabilities against aerial threats.

The spokesman for the Yemeni Armed Forces also reported hours ago the downing of a Saudi Apache attack helicopter in the 'Najran' region in southern Saudi Arabia, near the Yemeni border. This helicopter was targeted while conducting military operations in the area. This action once again showcased Yemen's military capabilities against Saudi aerial attacks.
Four days ago, a similar incident occurred in Najran, where a Saudi Typhoon fighter jet, which had taken off from Taif Air Base, was targeted and shot down by a Yemeni defense missile.
