Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council and former President and Prime Minister of the country, in an interview with the Islamic Republic of Iran News Network, stressed the importance of stable and strategic relations between Iran and Russia. He said: "We will never sacrifice our relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran for any other country." These remarks come at a time when tensions in the West Asian region have significantly increased.

Consequences of an attack on Iran and its impact on the global economy

Medvedev referred to the consequences of military attacks on Iran and said that such actions would lead to significant changes in the global economy. He explained that the United States would have to face rising oil and diesel prices and the economic problems resulting from it. This Russian official added: "They are facing high gasoline and fuel prices, and they have created these problems themselves."

He also referred to the crimes of the United States and the Zionist regime, saying: "They have destroyed everything and are to blame themselves. Now let them see the consequences." Medvedev also noted that sanctions and lack of cooperation with Iran have brought many problems for the United States itself.

Iran-Russia relations at an unprecedented level

Medvedev pointed to the current relations between Iran and Russia, stating that these relations are at an "unprecedented level." He announced that the volume of trade between the two countries increased by 20 percent last year, and Iran has managed to produce 7 percent of its total oil with the help of Russian investments. This Russian official also mentioned joint projects such as the Rasht-Astara railway, which could bring a serious transformation to the region's transportation industry.

He further stated: "We are not looking to pressure anyone and do not intend to engage in conflict with anyone." These remarks reflect Russia's willingness to maintain friendly relations and cooperation with Iran. He also added that Russia is never seeking to dominate any country and is always looking for equal relations with its neighbors.

At the end of his remarks, Medvedev referred to the threats from the United States, saying: "Iran has a powerful deterrent tool through the Strait of Hormuz, which can be likened to a thermonuclear weapon." He also emphasized the importance of negotiations and dialogue instead of confrontation, stating: "Otherwise, the world will face economic collapse."
