The destruction of Kyiv's bridges by Russia has significantly impacted the daily lives of residents in the capital of Ukraine. Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of Kyiv, announced that the northern bridge over the Dnipro River has been damaged following the latest Russian airstrikes and is now closed. This bridge is one of the main traffic routes in the city, and its closure means disruption to both public and private transportation.
Chaos in Vehicle Traffic
The southern bridge of Kyiv, which had previously been damaged, was again targeted by a Russian attack drone. Following this attack, vehicle traffic in the capital of Ukraine has been severely disrupted and even train services have been halted. This situation has created significant problems, especially for residents living east of the river. Many of these individuals need to cross the bridges to get to their workplaces, and the closure of these routes means increased travel time and more difficulties for them.

Escalation of Attacks and Damage to Infrastructure
Russian attacks on Ukraine's major cities, especially Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Odesa, have sharply increased. Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, warned in statements that it seems Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, no longer recognizes any rules in this regard. In this context, the Ukrinform news agency reported that Russian forces have also attacked the major city of Dnipro, and these attacks have caused widespread fires in residential buildings and commercial centers.
Oleksandr Honchar, the head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional administration, announced in his Telegram messages that at least four people, all women aged between 55 and 88, have been injured in these attacks. This statistic reflects the negative impacts of these attacks on civilian life and their vulnerability.
Concerns Over Civilian Casualties
The use of long-range missiles and drones in recent attacks has led to an increase in civilian casualties, especially in cities far from the front lines of the Ukraine war. The UN Human Rights Office has reported that these attacks have disrupted energy and transportation infrastructure, affecting the daily lives of millions and raising concerns about a new wave of attacks on Ukraine's critical infrastructure as winter approaches. For this reason, in recent days, Russian attacks have not only targeted the bridges of Kyiv but have also damaged the country's energy and transportation facilities.
Additionally, Sky News reported that after the identification of an unidentified flying object, possibly a drone, that had entered Lithuanian airspace from Belarus, NATO fighter jets in Lithuania were scrambled. This incident led to the closure of Vilnius Airport in the capital of Lithuania, and residents of the area have been advised to prepare for sheltering.
