China has once again expressed its support for Tehran in response to U.S. threats of further sanctions against Iran. This stance came just days after comments from Scott Busent, the U.S. Treasury Secretary, who referred to halting the activities of Iranian airlines.

China's Stance Against U.S. Sanctions

Liu Jian, spokesperson for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, stated at a press conference that Beijing opposes the unilateral and illegal sanctions imposed by the U.S. He emphasized, "These sanctions lack any basis in international law or a mandate from the United Nations Security Council." These remarks reflect China's firm position on supporting its trade and economic rights, including those of Iran and Russia.

Consequences of Threats and International Challenges

Scott Busent claimed in a television interview that the activities of Iranian airlines around the world would cease from September 23 (Wednesday, October 1). He also referenced constructive discussions with Chinese financial officials, claiming that these talks are aimed at cooperation regarding sanctions against Iran. However, it seems that these threats will not only fail to sever trade relations between China and Iran but will, on the contrary, encourage China to further support Tehran.

China, which has always been recognized as one of Iran's largest trading partners, emphasizes its right to maintain normal trade relations with various countries by rejecting U.S. sanctions. This stance is particularly significant as Iran seeks to strengthen its economic ties with other countries.

Given these developments, it appears that China and Iran will continue their cooperation, which could lead to the formation of a new front against international pressures. While the United States attempts to weaken Iran's economy through sanctions, Beijing, by supporting Tehran, is trying to neutralize these pressures.
