The Chairman of the Education and Research Commission of the Parliament stated regarding the situation of foreign students in the country: "Currently, more than 85,000 foreign students are studying in Iranian universities." This statistic indicates a significant growth in interest in studying in Iran, and on the other hand, the seventh development plan of the country has set a target to attract 320,000 international students by the end of this program.

Academic and Cultural Advancements

The education of foreign students in Iran not only contributes to cultural and scientific exchange but can also lead to the economic and social development of the country. The Chairman of the Education and Research Commission of the Parliament pointed out that with the development of educational programs and the facilitation of conditions for foreign students, it can be expected that the number of these students will increase in the coming years.

Challenges and Opportunities

Despite these encouraging statistics, there are still challenges in attracting and retaining foreign students. Some of these challenges include language, cultural, and economic issues that may hinder students from continuing their studies in Iran. For this reason, the educational authorities of the country are seeking solutions to improve this situation and facilitate the processes related to the admission and residency of foreign students.

Planning to attract international students can strengthen the country's educational system and also improve the quality of scientific research. This issue is particularly important in today's world, where countries are seeking to establish credible scientific and educational bases.

Overall, paying attention to the needs of foreign students and providing the necessary infrastructure for their education can help enhance Iran's scientific standing on the international stage. To this end, the country should focus on developing educational and cultural programs and create conditions that allow foreign students to study peacefully and confidently in Iranian universities.
