The arrival of a new rain system in the country heralds the end of the unprecedented heat that has prevailed in the northern strip of the country in recent days. Kobari Rafiei, an expert from the National Weather Organization, announced that rain showers will begin in the northern strip from late Thursday.
Atmospheric Changes in the Northern Strip
According to information provided by Rafiei, after sunny days and relatively high temperatures, rain showers will begin in the northern regions of the country and the central Alborz heights. On Friday, areas of northern West Azerbaijan, East Azerbaijan, Ardabil, Gilan, and Mazandaran will experience rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms. On Saturday, it is also expected that this rain system will be active in Gilan, Mazandaran, Golestan, and the central Alborz heights.

Temperature Drop and Rain Showers in the South
With the arrival of this system, temperatures in the northern strip of the country will drop by about 2 degrees. Additionally, rain showers are also predicted in the southern regions of the country during the afternoon hours in parts of southern Fars province, southern Kerman heights, and northern and eastern Hormozgan. These showers will be accompanied by thunderstorms and strong temporary winds.
Furthermore, Rafiei reported strong temporary winds in the western, southwestern, eastern, and southeastern regions of the country. In some of these areas, there is also a possibility of dust storms. The seas and the Persian Gulf will also be turbulent during this period, which should be taken into account by swimmers and boaters.
Temperature Status in Tehran and Other Regions
In Tehran province, a clear to partly cloudy sky is predicted, and during some hours, a temporary increase in wind speed may cause dust storms. The temperature fluctuations in Tehran will be between 24 to 36 degrees Celsius, with a one-degree increase compared to the previous day.
Reports from the Weather Organization also indicate that the average temperature in the country has increased by 2.5 degrees Celsius over the past week compared to the long-term period, with Alborz province experiencing the highest increase of 4.2 degrees.
All these predictions indicate that recreational and fishing activities on the shores and seas should be conducted with caution, and swimmers and boaters should pay necessary attention to weather conditions.
