Hassan Yazdani and Rahman Amouzad, two prominent wrestlers from Iran, faced refereeing challenges at the World Championships. Salar Aghavoli, an international wrestling referee from Iran, reviewed the referees' performance in these matches and raised some significant points.
Analysis of the Match Between Hassan Yazdani and Arash Yoshida
The match between Hassan Yazdani and Arash Yoshida ended with Yazdani's loss in the final seconds. Salar Aghavoli commented on this match: "Regarding the 2 points awarded for Yazdani being taken down, the rule states that 3 points of the body must be on the mat and the attacker must be behind the defender and have control over him. However, in this match, when Yazdani's knee touches the mat, the Japanese opponent did not have complete control. Also, when Yoshida passes behind Yazdani, Yazdani's legs are elevated, and I believe the 2 points were awarded incorrectly."

Refereeing in the Match of Rahman Amouzad
Salar Aghavoli also referred to the match between Rahman Amouzad and his Armenian opponent, stating: "The warning point given to Rahman in the final seconds was completely correct. The entire match must be considered. In the last 30 seconds, Amouzad was constantly escaping from the mat, and the referees should have warned him earlier. In this situation, the mat chairman also asked the referees why they were not giving warning points. Amouzad was fleeing, and this situation required a more serious response."
Aghavoli continued: "Overall, there were no issues with the refereeing in this match, but there was one or two instances where the opponent struck Amouzad in the face with his head, and the referee should have stopped the match and issued a warning." These points highlight the importance of precision in refereeing wrestling matches and also indicate the need for greater attention to detail during such important competitions.
