Alireza Nadali, spokesperson and vice president of the Cultural and Social Commission of Tehran City Council, in response to the attack on 17 damaged double-decker buses, said: “This attack is a symbol of the continuation of the same approach that has been at odds with the principle of Iran's independence in this strategic point of the world's civilizational and energy waterways for decades.”
Reminder of Past Crimes
Nadali reminded that unforgettable crimes such as the bombing of schools and the martyrdom of students in the early days of the imposed war have taught us that the enemy fights against the very existence of an independent nation. He emphasized that to think of the attack on urban buses merely as a malicious act against “welfare” is to reduce the issue to a trivial level.
Message of Commitment to Serve the People
Nadali also added: “The enmity that fights against our civil infrastructure is precisely the same imperialistic current that cannot tolerate the progress and prosperity of any country outside its own orbit. They even become enraged at the sight of service wheels on the streets of Tehran.” However, he referred to years of resilience and stated that these encroachments will never halt the train of the country's progress.
The spokesperson of the Tehran City Council emphasized that the passage of 31 of these buses through the siege and their arrival at customs has sent a clear message to the world: “The will to serve the people overcomes any obstacle.”
He concluded by stating that in the face of this inhumane behavior and violation of international rules, the city management of the capital, while condemning this attack, will strengthen the resolve of the city's servants to compensate for the damages, pursue legal action, and expedite the entry of other fleet sections. He noted: “Tehran will move forward relying on the commitment of its dedicated forces, and this malice will only add to the disgrace of the false claimants of freedom.”
