Alireza Kazemi, the Minister of Education, responded to concerns about the possibility of school closures and the shift to online education from mid-November on the sidelines of the inauguration of the largest Hemdeli Square project in Hamadan province. He firmly stated that in-person education is explicitly part of the Ministry of Education's policies and that the assumptions about school closures are incorrect.

Policy of Continuing In-Person Education

The Minister of Education added: "The main policy of the Ministry of Education is to continue school activities in person." He also mentioned that in the event of special circumstances, guidelines will be issued to governors to manage potential threats and challenges. This guideline has been developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and allows governors to make necessary decisions based on the conditions and level of threats.

Kazemi specifically emphasized that even in the event of an emergency, there will not be a unified closure of schools across the country. He referred to the government's decision to delegate the authority to close schools to the Minister of Education and said: "We have formed a working group to review and revise the criteria related to school closures."

Construction Progress and Development of Educational Spaces

The Minister of Education also referred to the actions taken in the field of developing educational spaces and said: "In the past year, despite numerous challenges, construction activities in the education sector have not been halted, and about 1.5 million square meters of new educational space has been built." He also pointed to the damage inflicted on educational units in recent attacks and emphasized the role of benefactors and the public in rebuilding these units.

Kazemi further mentioned the planned programs for the development of educational and sports infrastructure in schools and announced that the construction and completion of 135 swimming pools are planned in this regard. These actions demonstrate the Ministry of Education's serious commitment to improving educational conditions and providing necessary facilities for students.

Finally, the Minister of Education emphasized the importance of in-person education, stating: "We will do our utmost to ensure that the flow of education continues in person and, by taking necessary measures, prevent school closures." These statements reflect the Ministry of Education's commitment to maintaining educational quality and minimizing disruptions in the educational process of the country.
