Alireza Kazemi, the Minister of Education, in a meeting of the National Program for the Social Care System for Students (NEMAD), referred to recent rumors about the status of school activities and urged the provincial education directors and public relations officials to respond promptly and transparently to fake news and media manipulation.

Rejection of the student tag rumor

The Minister of Education mentioned the claim regarding the requirement for students to attend classes with a tag containing their name and described this issue as an example of rumor-mongering in the media space. Kazemi stated that the Ministry of Education will not allow the connection between students and schools and the learning process to be disrupted by making decisions appropriate to the conditions of each region.

Development of guidelines for the continuity of education

He also announced the development and issuance of guidelines for the continuity of the education process and emphasized the necessity of making regional, case-specific, and short-term decisions to manage the status of schools. According to Kazemi, these decisions may include temporary changes in the method of conducting classes and should be designed in a way that ensures students can access education even under difficult conditions.

The Minister of Education, appreciating the efforts of the officials in Hormozgan province for the continuity of education, called for ongoing planning so that students can access educational facilities under any circumstances.

Strengthening counseling services

Kazemi further emphasized the need to strengthen counseling and educational guidance services for students and called for the expansion of counselors' activities in public spaces and areas of cities. The goal of this initiative is to enable students and families to benefit from educational guidance and counseling services free of charge.

He also called for the improvement of the quality of services at counseling centers, the development of effectiveness indicators, and the evaluation of the actual outcomes of counseling and social interventions. Kazemi stressed the necessity of strengthening cooperation with drug control coordination councils in provinces, especially in target and vulnerable areas.

Priorities of the Ministry of Education

Finally, the Minister of Education considered the continuation of programs related to the prevention of social harms to students and the nurturing of their talents as the main priorities of the ministry. He emphasized to the relevant officials that these issues must be addressed with care and seriousness to ensure the educational and social future of students in a safe and quality environment.
