Ahmad Sadeghi, head of the Transparency Committee of the Tehran City Council, emphasized the need for transparency regarding the "Zero Inflation" plan in the last city council meeting. He pointed out that many citizens may have the impression that the mentioned plan is related to urban development revenues, whereas this connection does not exist.
Invitation to the Mayor of Tehran for Further Explanations
Sadeghi said: "My suggestion is that the Mayor of Tehran, Alireza Zakani, be invited to the public session to answer citizens' questions and ambiguities." This action, according to him, could help clarify various aspects of this plan and clearly state the incorrectness of its connection to urban development revenues. Sadeghi added that with clear and transparent explanations, the ambiguities in the public's mind will be resolved.
Concept and Importance of the Zero Inflation Plan
The "Zero Inflation" plan is considered one of the main axes of the economic programs of the Tehran Municipality. The goal of this plan is to control and reduce the inflation rate in the city, which has become one of the major concerns of citizens in recent years. Sadeghi stated that this plan aims to improve the city's economic situation and social welfare, emphasizing the importance of transparency and information dissemination about it.
The head of the Transparency Committee of the Tehran City Council also referred to the impacts of this plan on the daily lives of citizens, saying: "The more we inform about this plan, the more citizens' trust in the municipality will increase, and we can achieve our common goal through collaboration."
In this regard, Sadeghi pointed to the role of media and civil institutions in explaining and clarifying urban plans and called for the cooperation of all stakeholders to achieve the goals of this plan. He stressed that with sufficient transparency and explanations, ambiguities that may lead to misunderstandings can be eliminated.
