In a tense meeting with the CEOs and board members of banks, Abdolnaser Hemati, the Governor of the Central Bank, emphasized the necessity of seriousness in combating money laundering violations. He announced that this institution will specifically focus on violations at the level of banks, branches, and individuals involved in these violations.

Special Attention to Suspicious Transactions

Hemati stated in this meeting: "Banks must pay close attention to suspicious transactions and report any warning signs to judicial authorities." These remarks come amid significant criticism of the country's banking system regarding transparency and oversight of financial transactions. He also added that the Central Bank will deal decisively with offenders, and no leniency in this regard is acceptable.

This decision has been presented as a serious measure to combat money laundering and create transparency in the country's banking system, and it could have a profound impact on the financial activities in Iran. Hemati stressed that banks must be more sensitive to this issue and must not neglect transparency and accountability.

A Future Without Financial Violations

The Governor of the Central Bank also warned banks that failure to comply with laws and regulations related to combating money laundering will lead to serious consequences. He announced that this institution will soon provide programs and solutions to strengthen the supervisory systems and internal controls of banks.

It seems that with this serious stance, the Central Bank intends to at least superficially combat financial violations and money laundering and assure the public that the country's banking system is moving towards transparency and legality.
